During the Zhenguan era, Prince Xia Ren travels to Yuezhou to establish his princely fiefdom. Devoted to researching practical inventions that improve people's livelihoods, he has no desire to get caught up in court politics. When natural disasters strike Dongting Lake, large numbers of fishing families are displaced and gather in the area. Working alongside the local government, Xia Ren reclaims wasteland, expands farmland, establishes workshops, and opens elementary schools. Together, they transform Yuezhou into a place where its people can live in peace and prosperity.
