Cui Tingyi, daughter of the Minister, is forced to marry Emperor Xiao Qi and become his empress. Only after their marriage does she discover that Xiao Qi suffers from severe prosopagnosia (face blindness) and married her purely to take revenge on her father. After repeatedly mistaking her for unfamiliar women and publicly confessing love to her—causing endless embarrassment—Xiao Qi declares that he will not see the empress for a whole month. Cui Tingyi seizes the opportunity to sneak out of the palace, adopts the pseudonym Wang Cuihua, and opens a glass and glaze shop named 'Yibao Pavilion' to earn money and prepare an escape route. Meanwhile, Xiao Qi travels incognito under the alias Li Tieniu and crosses paths with her. Miraculously cured of his face blindness in her presence, he becomes convinced she is his heaven-sent soulmate and pursues her relentlessly, completely unaware that his beloved is his very own empress.
