This drama is adapted from Gao Yang's novel of the same name, Eight Generals of the Thousand Gates. Gao Yang, the principal general of the Thousand Gates, possesses extraordinary skills, but due to a cold ailment entering his body, he has only one year left to live. After spending two years in seclusion healing his wounds and returning to the martial world, disregarding the approaching time limit, he stubbornly insists on tracking down the scattered seven generals of the Thousand Gates across various places. Old subordinates such as the opposing general Shi Yao, the fire general Hua Liang, and the theft king Ding Ba each harbor unsettled emotions. The protagonist Gao Yang contends with heaven and fights fate with his life, completing the martial world legend of the 1,256th-generation destiny inheritance of the Thousand Gates within his limited remaining life.
