An old land deed shatters a peaceful farming life. Wang Xiumei, crushed by a life of poverty, insists on selling the land for money to support her family; Zhang Guilan and Li Jianguo view the land as the foundation of the Li family and risk their lives to guard it. Zhao Danian presses them step by step, destroying land and applying pressure, operating behind the scenes to tamper with the land area, forcing the family step by step to compromise, as old grudges pile on top of new hatreds. The family plunges to rock bottom, ultimately letting go of their estrangement to join hands in counterattacking, guarding the fields and also guarding the shattered home.
