I Came to Form a Marriage Alliance, You Make Me Work the May Day Shift
Gu Tingyan, the young heir of the Gu family, conceals his identity and visits the Shen Group to evaluate a potential business partnership and his prospective marriage partner, Shen Qingran. While waiting in the break room, he is mistaken for a new employee by Zhou Xuan, his prospective partner's boyfriend and the CEO's assistant. Zhou forces him to work unpaid shifts throughout the five-day May Day holiday, deliberately makes things difficult for him, and even has him beaten and tied up. When Shen Qingran arrives, she not only refuses to intervene but also indulges Zhou's behavior and tries to buy Gu Tingyan off with money. After he rejects her offer, she orders her men to attack him. At the critical moment, Chairman Shen arrives and reveals Gu Tingyan's true identity. Gu Tingyan rejects both the marriage alliance and the business partnership, pursues legal action against those responsible for the violence, and ultimately chooses to work with a small company that operates by the rules.
