I Granted My Legitimate Grandson's Wish to Defy the Imperial Edict and Break Off the Engagement, But He Panicked
Pei Shenyu, the old matriarch of the Ningyuan Marquis's mansion, is reborn at the age of eighty, with only three days left before the entire clan is exiled. In her previous life, her eldest legitimate grandson Pei Jingxing was bewitched by Su Maner, an itinerant female physician, and publicly refused his marriage, enraging the emperor. All three hundred members of the marquis's mansion were exiled, and she froze to death on the way. In this new life, she takes back the properties, cuts down expenses, and supports Pei Jingxuan, her grandson born to a concubine. On the fifteenth day of the twelfth lunar month, she enters the palace ahead of time and personally asks to have her legitimate grandson struck from the family register. On the day the imperial edict is issued, she opens the account book presented by a secret investigator — every month, fifty taels of silver have been quietly transferred from the Cheng family's bank into Su Maner's hands.
