After an overnight downpour, tens of thousands of catties of cherries in Zhongjia Village cracked and mildewed. The villagers mobbed Zhong Kaixuan's front door, begging him to bail them out at two yuan a catty. Yet just ten days earlier, they had believed Zhong Mengyao's get-rich pipe dream based on 39.9 yuan imported cherries, cursed Zhong Kaixuan over an 8-yuan purchase price for allegedly skimming the price difference, and smashed doors and windows to force him out. Zhong Kaixuan walked away and instead purchased top-grade fruit from Guojia Village, selling until demand far outstripped supply, while Zhongjia Village suffered refunds, store bans, and warehouses full of rotting cherries. Now that everyone has come crawling back for help, Zhong Kaixuan sets down only three rules: if you want to make money, uphold integrity first.
