To save his ailing mother and make travel easier for everyone, Lin Fei sells his car and borrows money to pave the muddy mountain road of Shan'ao Village at his own expense. Initially, the villagers praise and thank him. However, when passing vehicles from other villages generate maintenance fees, greed takes over. The villagers pressure Lin Fei to divide the money, even accusing him of embezzlement. Deeply disillusioned, Lin Fei is forced to close the road, audit the accounts, and establish strict rules, finally seeing through the ugly side of human nature. Moving past the storm, he stops giving blindly, starts anew with his family, and leads the village toward real change through contracts, cold-chain logistics, fruit distribution, and charity for education. A single road reflects the warmth and chill of human nature, leading Shan'ao Village to true transformation.
