Yu Qinghe, a veteran in the world of crosstalk comedy, devoted half his life to turning his apprentice, Jiang Xiaofei, into a crosstalk superstar. After achieving fame, Jiang Xiaofei repaid his mentor's kindness with betrayal, quietly going solo and publicly belittling his master to build his own image. Yu Qinghe revokes the rights to his works and cuts off his connections. Jiang Xiaofei then suffers one disaster after another: a livestream fiasco, an onstage accident at an awards ceremony, and the closure of his self-founded comedy venue. In the end, his reputation is ruined, and the industry abandons him. Yu Qinghe holds his own special performance to restore professional standards, standing firm on the principles of preserving the crosstalk tradition and respecting one's master.
