Facing malicious reports from his upstairs neighbor Wang Li claiming his window security grille was an illegal structure, Zhou Fan proactively complied by removing it while secretly recording her provocative remarks. The next day, when Wang Li stormed down demanding compensation after her pet cat fell from the windowsill, Zhou Fan produced the recording to expose her hypocrisy on the spot, forcing her to reap what she sowed. When Wang Li retaliated by pettily shutting off his water valve, Zhou Fan set up surveillance cameras to secure evidence and united with other neighbors to expose her misdeeds. Arming himself with rules and wisdom to protect his home, he proved that kindness must possess an edge, and only through measured resolve can one safeguard everyday life.
