I Sent My Father Off on His Final Journey, But He Stayed with His Childhood Sweetheart to Save a Cat
On the day of her father's burial, Qingchuan held the ash urn and waited in the torrential rain for three hours, while her fiancé Gu Chengyu skipped the funeral for a cat belonging to his childhood sweetheart Lin Qian. She later learned that on the night her father was critically ill and undergoing emergency treatment, she made eleven phone calls that went unanswered because Gu Chengyu, knowing the danger, stayed by Lin Qian's side simply due to the remark, "Qingchuan can handle it." Even on the seventh day after her father's passing, he broke his promise once again for Lin Qian. Seven years of affection and waiting after waiting finally exhausted all of Qingchuan's expectations. She called off the wedding, took off her ring, went far away to Jingzhou, and picked up the career she had once given up for love. Until Gu Chengyu chased after her, she only left behind the sentence, "I quit."
