The protagonist Qin Dajiang was originally an ordinary mortal. While watering flowers at home, he accidentally transmigrated into a fantasy world where cultivators can form contracts with spirit beasts, becoming a disciple of the Qin family. It coincided with the Qin family holding a spirit beast tournament for the younger generation, where the top five entered an arena round-robin. Qin Dajiang contracted the second-rank Yumianjun, fighting hard all the way through wind domain control and crushing soul spiritual power. Qin Linfeng held his ground steadily with the life sustain of the Qingmu Spirit Deer, while Qin Yue cast sword fox illusions with the Yuehua Spirit Fox. After fierce battles, Qin Dajiang took first place. Envoys from the Beast Taming Sect and the Spirit Sword Sect arrived in person to scout talent; Qin Dajiang and Qin Linfeng joined the Beast Taming Sect, while Qin Yue joined the Spirit Sword Sect. Bidding farewell to their family, the three embarked on the grand path of cultivation.
