The Good Guy Calls It Quits, and the Whole City Begs Me to Start Work
For six years, honest repairman Chen Jianguo has volunteered his time and skills to fix plumbing and electrical problems on the old street, giving everything he has to help his neighbors. Instead of earning their gratitude, he becomes the target of malicious rumors and a real-name report by Liu Jianming, the owner of a fresh food shop. After enduring betrayal and manipulation, Chen finally sees people for who they are and abruptly ends all his free services. With repairs across the neighborhood grinding to a halt, the residents are left struggling. Chen secures a legitimate storefront, opens a compliant repair business with transparent prices, and relies on his craftsmanship to make a living. Liu Jianming repeatedly retaliates and causes one disaster after another, ultimately drowning in debt and landing in prison. In the end, the honest man turns his fortunes around by standing firm on his principles and proving his true abilities.
