A Demoted Official Returns Home in a Year of Great Famine: Half an Acre of Green Crops Foretell the Coming Disaster
After being demoted and sent back to his hometown, Shen Yan uses the agricultural knowledge he acquired at the Directorate of Agriculture to predict a once-in-a-century hailstorm. Despite the entire village mocking and misunderstanding him, he rushes to harvest the green crops and build protective greenhouses. During the harsh winter and famine, he uses black stones for heating and grows seedlings in underground cellars. He exposes superstitious frauds, unites his neighbors to repel bandits, and leads everyone in reclaiming wasteland and building a fortified settlement to survive the crisis together. From a man everyone curses as a madman to the pillar of support for the entire town, he uses practical knowledge and compassion to create a way out of desperation, proving that hard work and mutual support are the most reliable sources of hope.
