Phoenix Fire Illuminates the Cold River
The hunter Wang Dashan captures an injured princess of the Phoenix Clan who has been wounded while undergoing tribulation, but greed takes hold of him at the sight of her wealth. His younger sister, Wang Xiaoman, is kindhearted and does everything she can to save the phoenix, unexpectedly receiving a Phoenix Spirit Pearl bestowed by the Phoenix King. However, Wang Dashan cannot suppress his greed. He steals the pearl and conspires with the evil local tyrant Ma Youcai, going so far as to plot against his own sister to seize wealth and status. Having endured life-and-death trials, Wang Xiaoman joins forces with others to fight the wicked and gathers the goodwill of the people to save the phoenix eggs. In the end, the evildoers are brought to justice. Wang Xiaoman gives up gold and silver offered in lavish gratitude and instead uses phoenix fire to protect her neighbors, showing that true redemption has never come from divine power, but from the faint light of human kindness.
