The Centipede King of Hongshigou
Lu Dacheng makes a living by catching centipedes in the mountains, plundering their nests without restraint for three years. One night, Chiyue, the Centipede King he has brutalized, transforms into an old man and comes to his door, hosting a nighttime banquet in his cave abode to settle their grievances. The villain Feng Shichang, seeking to seize the inner core, smashes the miasma-sealing stone beneath the mountain, allowing a black miasma to spread along the spring's underground channels and poison the entire village. Coming to his senses, Lu Dacheng abandons his insect-catching tools and atones with his life, breaking through the spirit-locking formation to defend the centipede clan to the death. As hatred and compassion intertwine, humans and mountain spirits ultimately let go of their old grudges and join forces to protect the forests and spring channels of Hongshigou.

Lu Dacheng si guadagna da vivere catturando centopiedi in montagna e per tre anni saccheggia senza scrupoli i loro nidi. Una notte, Chiyue, il Re dei Centopiedi che lui ha maltrattato, si trasforma in un anziano e si presenta alla sua porta. Organizza un banchetto notturno nella sua grotta per risolvere vecchi rancori. Il malvagio Feng Shichang, deciso a impadronirsi del nucleo interno, rompe la pietra che sigilla il miasma tossico sotto la montagna. La nebbia nera si diffonde lungo le vene sotterranee delle sorgenti e avvelena l'intero villaggio.
