In a Famine Year, One Chicken: I Raised a Legion of Ten Thousand Beasts
During a harsh famine year when heavy snow sealed the mountains, Luo Yu, a cowherd whose parents died and whose family property was usurped by his uncles, was critically ill, starving to death at home with his ghost-bride wife Su Wan'er. In the desperate extremity, he awakened as the Lord of all Beasts. Starting by enlightening the dying old hen at home, he stepped into the martial path relying on spiritual qi eggs, successively subduing spirit hounds, black bears, flaming white tigers, and the Myriad Poison Bee Queen, using beasts for hunting, grain seeking, treasure hunting, and enemy defense. After taking back his family property, he further fed the entire village and controlled a town during the great disaster. Facing the covetousness and encirclement of gentry, martial arts schools, and even government black-armored armies, Luo Yu took beasts as his army and the common people as his foundation, forging a path of rise amidst the famine.
