The Moment the Red Cloth Was Lifted, I Announced in Front of Everyone That I Was Withdrawing My Investment
I donated 12 million yuan to my alma mater to build a new building. But when the unveiling ceremony began, the donor's name on the plaque turned out to be the principal's son. The principal patted me on the shoulder and said, "You've already done a good deed, so you might as well see it through." I withdrew my funding on the spot, and every cent was returned within a week. Later, an investigation by the disciplinary inspection authorities revealed that this was not the only money he had embezzled. Funds meant to save impoverished students' lives and kickbacks from construction projects had all ended up in his overseas accounts. He threatened me, telling me to quit while I was ahead. Instead, I handed over the evidence. It's fine to do good deeds without seeking recognition, but I won't let someone steal my name.
