In 1955, Jiang Chaoyang, an outdoor survival enthusiast, travels through time and becomes a young volunteer heading to Beidahuang to support frontier development. Aboard the green train, he saves himself by using massage techniques to bring down a fever and comforts his dispirited companions with delicious food. After arriving at their wilderness dugout camp, he cleverly prepares meals and organizes the group, leading the young educated youths to unite and help one another. When they venture into the mountains to cut timber, he puts his wilderness survival skills to good use, building ice sleds, gathering pine nuts, and pressing them for oil.
