In Troubled Times, I Have a Turtle, So I Never Worry About Food or Drink
Jiang Chen was an ordinary overworked office worker in the 21st century before transmigrating to the Great Zhou Dynasty during a devastating famine, where he became a reckless wastrel and local troublemaker. Unfortunately, his predecessor had squandered the family's entire winter food supply to curry favor with Chen Hua, only to drink himself to death in the freezing winter night. When Jiang Chen awakens, the family has no food left. Fortunately, he obtains a mysterious star-patterned turtle shell that reveals daily omens about the mountains and wilderness, guiding him to wild rabbits, pheasants, and rare medicinal herbs. Following its guidance, he ventures into the mountains and brings home meat, improving his family's meals. He firmly rejects the unreasonable demand for fifty taels of betrothal money from the Chen family. Later, he hunts a white fox, battles the Wolf King, and acquires the martial art Thunderclap Fist. While hunting and stockpiling food, he also trains in martial arts and gradually grows closer to Shen Yanqiu, a scholarly young woman from a fallen family whose identity is shrouded in mystery. Relying on his own abilities, he gathers abundant supplies first and only then sets out to claim his place as a ruler.
