The story takes place at Mingde Academy in Qingxi Town. Lin Yanzhou, a young boy who speaks slowly and fears speaking in public, faces the test of taking the stage at the Qingxi Poetry Gathering. One night, an ink sprite named Mo Xiaoman is born from his inkstone, bringing him into a magical world of ink paintings. In the ink painting world, Lin Yanzhou continuously practices expression with the help of a small boat, wind, and stream water, facing his inner fear of being ridiculed. In reality, Xiao He and Mr. Zhou give him understanding and encouragement. Taking the stage at the poetry gathering, although nervous and stuttering, he sincerely completes his poem "The Small Stone Bridge", realizing that slowness does not equal weakness. In the end, he accepts himself and passes on this courage to other timid children.
