In a northern county town in the 1970s, the autumn air is crisp and refreshing. Jiang Xiaoyue, a village girl from the mountains, agrees to a marriage arrangement to pay for her father's medical treatment. Gu Zhenhua, the deputy director of the county machinery factory, is captivated by her cheerful and capable nature. As the two gradually get to know and understand each other, they develop mutual respect and support, eventually joining forces to open a mountain produce shop and build a prosperous life together.
