Layer Upon Layer of Scheming, All for Nothing in the End
After returning to her hometown, Zhou Xiaonan donates her family's unused homestead land to the village free of charge to build a garbage transfer station. However, the plot is right next to Li Jianguo's house, sparking an ongoing conflict between the two families. Li Jianguo believes the transfer station will seriously disrupt his family's daily life. He takes the lead in obstructing construction, cutting cables, dumping garbage in the road, and even secretly building a wall that encroaches on a communal drainage ditch, causing water to accumulate in neighboring courtyards. The two sides repeatedly clash over property boundaries, drainage, tree cutting, and ownership of an old forest plot, eventually engaging in a fierce dispute over funeral arrangements. With intervention and mediation from various village and township authorities, each dispute is investigated and resolved in accordance with the law. After numerous twists and turns, everyday life and order gradually return to the countryside.
