Seven years ago, Jiang Yue, an orphan from an ordinary family, painfully left Gu Huaichen so that he could return home for treatment of his heart condition. However, she was involved in a car accident, which left her mentally impaired, and gave birth to their daughter, Nian Nian. Gu Huaichen was told by his father that Jiang Yue had died. Unable to forget her after all these years, he repeatedly refused arranged marriages. Seven years later, while begging on the streets to raise money for Jiang Yue's surgery, Nian Nian finds Gu Huaichen's jade pendant, leading him to discover that Jiang Yue is still alive. Meng Yurou, the woman chosen for his arranged marriage, repeatedly harms the mother and daughter, but unexpectedly helps Jiang Yue recover her memories. Jiang Yue also uncovers her true identity and reunites with her biological mother, discovering that she is actually Su Yuening, the long-lost daughter of the Su family. In the end, Meng Yurou's crimes, including orchestrating a car accident, are exposed, and she is sent to prison. With their families' blessings, Jiang Yue and Gu Huaichen finally hold their wedding, and the family of three begins a happy new life.

Il y a sept ans, Jiang Yue, une orpheline issue d'une famille modeste, a quitté Gu Huaichen le cœur brisé afin qu'il puisse rentrer chez lui pour se faire soigner de sa maladie cardiaque. Cependant, elle a été victime d'un accident de voiture qui lui a causé des troubles intellectuels, puis a donné naissance à leur fille, Nian Nian. Le père de Gu Huaichen lui a annoncé que Jiang Yue était morte. Incapable de l'oublier au fil des années, il a constamment refusé les mariages arrangés. Sept ans plus tard, alors que Nian Nian mendie pour réunir l'argent nécessaire à l'opération de sa mère, elle trouve le pendentif en jade de Gu Huaichen, lui permettant de découvrir que Jiang Yue est toujours en vie. Meng Yurou, la femme choisie pour l'épouser, s'en prend à plusieurs reprises à la mère et à sa fille, mais aide involontairement Jiang Yue à retrouver la mémoire. Jiang Yue découvre également ses véritables origines et retrouve sa mère biologique. Elle est en réalité Su Yuening, la fille de la famille Su disparue depuis longtemps. Finalement, les nombreux méfaits de Meng Yurou, notamment l'organisation d'un accident de voiture, sont révélés et elle est emprisonnée. Avec la bénédiction de leurs familles, Jiang Yue et Gu Huaichen célèbrent leur mariage, et leur famille de trois personnes commence enfin une vie heureuse.
