Five hundred years ago, the Golden-Winged Dapeng, Azure Lion, and White Elephant seized Shituo Ridge, slaughtered the people of Shituo Kingdom, and established a demon realm. When Tang Seng and his disciples travel west through this land, the three demons plot and capture Tang Seng. Sun Wukong attempts rescue multiple times and engages in fierce battles with the trio. Swallowed by the Azure Lion and trapped inside the Yin-Yang Flask, he escapes using his divine powers and Guanyin's life-saving hairs, freeing Bajie, Sha Seng, and the White Dragon Horse. Defeated, the three demons retreat to Shituo City and use Tang Seng as bait to lure Sun Wukong into a final showdown.
