Shen Xiao, reduced to begging on the streets, unexpectedly runs into his supposedly dead wife, Su Qing. It turns out that Su Qing only faked her blindness to swindle him out of his corneas, giving them to her truly blind lover, Lu Chen. After regaining his sight, Lu Chen fled into the sunset with Su Qing, who had faked her own death. Consumed by bitter regret and fury, Shen Xiao is reborn back to the moment before he donated his corneas.
