Kneeling Before the Coffin at the City Gate: I Married the Fallen Marquis
In her past life, Chu Miaoyin died due to her stepmother's schemes. Reborn once more, she defies fate to change her destiny. Dressed in wedding robes over white mourning garments, she kneels to welcome the coffin of Lin Jingheng, Marquis of Wu'an, who fell in battle. She staunchly upholds the marriage bestowed by the Emperor and enters the Marquis of Wu'an's household to wed a 'living widow' — unaware that Lin Jingheng has faked his death by imperial edict and returned in disguise as Deputy General Lin to investigate the truth behind the Empress Dowager's faction plotting rebellion. Chu Miaoyin becomes the young mistress of the Marquis estate, bringing her stepmother to account and reclaiming the dowry usurped by her half-sister. At the same time, she lays careful plans and joins forces with the disguised Lin Jingheng to fend off repeated assassination attempts! She rescues the amnesiac leader of the martial arts alliance and grows to share true affection with Lin Jingheng through one crisis after another. When the palace coup erupts, they stand together to overthrow the traitorous faction, endure the pain of parting and loss, and spend the rest of their lives in sincere devotion to one another!
