Born under the prophecy that she would commit regicide, the imperial granddaughter Gu Lingyi grew up sheltered by Emperor Cheng and tutored by the Grand Preceptor. At the age of thirteen, a plague broke out due to the corruption of her second uncle, Prince Chu, and her parents died in service of relief efforts, planting deep hatred in her heart. Growing up, seizing the opportunity of disaster relief following the Tan Prefecture dam breach, she took Xie Jiasong as her trusted confidant, wore red robes to court to bring down Prince Chu with an iron fist, and turned the tables during the crisis of a forced marriage with Baidi. When Emperor Cheng fell critically ill, the Crown Prince's coup was crushed by Gu Lingyi. To preserve imperial dignity, Emperor Cheng pleaded with her to grant him poison, and Gu Lingyi tearfully fulfilled the prophecy. Ultimately, she ascended the throne as an empress, ushering in a flourishing age and rewriting fate through a century of glorious reign.
