My Husband Asked Me to Vacate the Room, Yet Still Expected Me to Come Back and Cook
Zhao Shufen and Jiang Guofu have been remarried for ten years. Her husband gives their bedroom to his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, tells her to move out, yet still expects her to come back to cook and look after the child. She temporarily moves in with a friend and stops providing financial support and doing the daily housework. When her rental period ends, she reclaims her own home and puts a stop to the Jiang family's plans to move in without permission, measure the rooms, and relocate furniture. When her husband injures himself in a fall, she takes care of him but also makes her son and daughter-in-law share the responsibility in shifts. After a month of trying to get along again, her husband once more agrees to look after the child without consulting her. She finally decides to divorce him, settle their shared finances and belongings, repair her relationship with her daughter, and start living independently by joining a choir. The Jiang father and son are finally forced to take responsibility for their own lives.
