Cut My Salary, I Buy the Breakfast Shop
Qin Yuehua has worked as a pastry chef at the "Haozhoudao" chain breakfast shop for twelve years, and her signature "Jade Shaomai" is the sign of the whole street. The newly arrived operations director, Zhao Shijie, under the excuse of "cost optimization", cut her monthly salary from 12,000 to 6,500. Qin Yuehua resigned, rented a nearly bankrupt steamed bun shop in the old alleys of West City, and reopened. From failing to sell twenty steamers a day, to neighbors queuing up to the end of the alley, to endless orders for wedding and birthday banquets. One year later, Qin Yuehua brought her signature dish and walked into the "Haozhoudao" headquarters building—this time, not to go back to work, but to discuss an acquisition.
