Xu Nan, a young woman from southern China, travels far to Northeast China after experiencing setbacks in life, intending to put her troubled past behind her. Surrounded by the warmth and kindness of Wang Xiulan and her family, Xu Nan gradually overcomes her sadness and falls in love with Wang's son, Zhao Pengfei. The two eventually marry.
