The Trump Card in the Vegetable Basket
On a cold, rainy day in late autumn, Liang Yuzhen braves the rain to deliver premium seafood, only to be rejected by her own son, who thinks she looks too unfashionable, and barred from entering her in-laws' upscale family banquet. Her heart finally turns cold. She takes the ingredients away on the spot and cuts off the connections and resources she has spent half her life cultivating. Without her support, the fake elites repeatedly hit roadblocks and make fools of themselves. When her son comes crawling back, playing the victim and using guilt to manipulate her, Liang Yuzhen instead channels all her resources toward grateful neighbors, leaving the vain to suffer the consequences of their own actions and finding her own confidence in the warmth of everyday life.
