The Tale of the Fake Senior Disciple Getting Caught
Before leaving the country, Professor Jiang Enqi temporarily entrusted the Mingke Laboratory to his disciple, Xia Nuan, to manage. Fan Ruoruo, an intern who had been on the job for only five days, falsely claimed to be the professor's final disciple and began throwing her weight around the laboratory. She violated regulations by changing temperatures and destroying samples, demanded authorship credit on research papers, withheld bonuses, and even insisted that people pay to work. During a visit from investors, she went even further by trespassing into a restricted core area and causing an accident, driving away the major investor. Afterward, her behavior became increasingly outrageous: she seized projects, assaulted colleagues, and forced Xia Nuan to wash toxic beakers with her bare hands, pushing the laboratory to the brink of collapse.
