The Debt of a Bucket of Water
A mountain village is suffering from a water shortage. Ma Dewang uses his family's ancestral well to control the water supply, cutting off water and obstructing construction to protect his profits, leaving the villagers furious but afraid to speak out. When his grandson falls ill after drinking from the well, village doctor A Xiu joins forces with Ma Xiaojun and Gui Fen to investigate. They uncover the truth about the contamination and lead the villagers in raising money to repair the pipes. When clean water finally flows throughout the village again, the Ma family is left without a drop. Carrying an empty bucket from door to door begging for water, Ma Dewang finally realizes that the villagers he once mistreated are his sick grandson's only hope.

Una aldea de montaña sufre una grave escasez de agua. Ma Dewang se aprovecha del pozo ancestral de su familia para controlar el suministro de agua. Con tal de proteger sus beneficios, corta el suministro y obstaculiza las obras, obligando a los aldeanos a guardar silencio pese a su indignación. Cuando su nieto enferma tras beber agua del pozo, A Xiu, la médica de la aldea, une fuerzas con Ma Xiaojun y Gui Fen para investigar. Juntos descubren la verdad sobre la contaminación y guían a los aldeanos para recaudar fondos y reparar las tuberías. Cuando el agua limpia vuelve a llegar a toda la aldea, la familia Ma se queda sin una sola gota. Con un cubo vacío en las manos, Ma Dewang recorre el lugar suplicando que le den agua y finalmente comprende que los aldeanos a los que tanto perjudicó son la única esperanza de su nieto enfermo.
