The Late Family
A father conceals his ex-wife's children, and his eight-month pregnant wife freezes the moment she opens the door. Two children are accepted into prestigious universities but have nowhere to go, as their biological mother cheated them out of their tuition fees and their grandmother occupies the house. The stepmother goes from resistance to stepping up to protect them, bearing her pregnant belly to shield her stepdaughter from a drunkard. Having gone through misunderstandings, schemes, and twists, a bowl of hot soup and a cry of "Mom" will ultimately bind this non-blood-related family tightly together. Blood ties are not the only yardstick; protection amidst storms is what makes a family. A heart-warming work that made countless people cry.
