The Daughter Picked Up on the Snowy Mountain
In the 1980s, hunter Chen Dayong was hunting in the snowy mountains when a bolt of lightning split open a snowdrift, revealing a baby girl dressed in a red coat who actually called him Dad. His wife, Qiu Lan, had been unable to have children for eight years and cherishes the little girl with all her heart. But his sister-in-law and mother-in-law call her a wild child and insist that she be sent away. Xi Bao is truly a little lucky star: eight eggs appear in the chicken coop overnight, and wild pheasants walk right into the cage on their own. When the cruel mother-in-law demands that the family split up, dumping a dilapidated house and a scrawny pig on the younger son's family, the hunter slams the table and agrees. So be it! Chen Dayong has two strong hands and will never let his wife and daughter go hungry!
