Butcher Girl Xiao Funü, A Handsome Husband Sent from Heaven - Season 1
Zhao Xingyue, a robust and clear-headed butcher in Qingyuan Town, was betrothed in her early years to the poor scholar Sun Qirui. After passing the imperial examination as a xiucai, Sun Qirui despised her for being plump and came to break off the engagement. Zhao Xingyue calmly demanded one hundred taels in compensation. Anticipating a drought, she used the money to stockpile grain, opened a braised pork shop, went hunting in the mountains to increase her income, and unexpectedly acquired a batch of wealth. While worshipping her ancestors, she saved Qi Heng, the Prince of Rong, who had been targeted in an assassination attempt and was living under the pseudonym Zhen Qiheng, and took him in as her matrilocal husband according to their agreement. Qi Heng's true identity was noble, and he bestowed upon her vast tracts of farmland and courtyards. Zhao Xingyue diligently managed her livelihood, provided relief to her clan members, and followed Doctor Song to learn medicine, leading a prosperous and flourishing life. In contrast, Sun Qirui, who clung to the powerful and wealthy, lived a chaotic life filled with remorse.
