The Retirement House That Cannot Be Kept
After retiring, Zhang Xiulian went to her son Chen Kai's home to help take care of her granddaughter. Thinking the family could look out for one another, she was instead treated like a free nanny by her daughter-in-law Su Manli, sleeping in the utility room and cooking even while sick. Su Manli even stole her ID and payroll card, secretly transferring 60,000 yuan of her retirement savings for her younger brother Su Qiang's wedding. When the matter was exposed, she not only refused to return the money, but also forced Zhang Xiulian to sell her only old house, and even secretly arranged for her brother to move in as a bridal room. Repeated hurts led Zhang Xiulian to completely awaken. Chen Kai also finally saw through his wife's greed and chose to divorce. Zhang Xiulian guarded her property, recovered her retirement savings, joined a recitation class, and relived an independent and carefree old age.
