Night Snow on Red Walls Covers the Old Courtyard
In her previous life, Chunxing was drowned in icy water by her young master, Jiang Jingheng, who held her underwater. She also lost the child in her womb. When she opens her eyes again, she has returned to the time before that nightmare. She turns around and climbs into the bed of the Duke of Zhenguo, Jiang Yanchi, becoming a woman belonging to Jiang Jingheng's father. Xie Xiangyi, who hides her hypocrisy behind a virtuous facade, frames her, while Qiaolan torments her out of jealousy. From planted evidence involving a purse to malicious rumors, Chunxing clears her name at every turn and turns the tables, getting Xie Xiangyi confined and Qiaolan forcibly drugged and sold away. Jiang Yanchi is cold-faced but fiercely protective of those he favors. He gives her the position of Concubine Chun, but cannot give her the status of a lawful wife. She becomes pregnant and gives birth, believing she can secure her place in the inner household. Yet storms in the imperial court are already gathering. With the old nightmare still haunting her and a broken branch drawing her into the game, in this life she wants only one thing: to survive, and to win.
