There are two great nuisances in the Underworld: one is a flower, and the other is a book. After the Book of Life and Death, which governs the fate and lifespan of all things in the world, gains sentience, it takes advantage of its innate privileges to gossip about everyone instead of doing its job. After a thousand years, a red spider lily transforms into human form. Seeing her promising potential, the King of Hell makes an exception and appoints her as Meng Po's assistant. At first, she does her job well, but as time passes, she grows increasingly bored. Then, one day, these two troublemakers cross paths. Finding kindred spirits in each other, they become inseparable: one digs up gossip while the other listens to stories. Before long, they become the two biggest nuisances in the Underworld, leaving not even a passing dog's secrets untouched. Exasperated, the King of Hell decides to send them both to the mortal world to be reformed.

Nel mondo sotterraneo ci sono due grandi seccatori: il primo è un fiore, il secondo un libro. Dopo che il Libro della Vita e della Morte, che governa le vicende di tutti gli esseri del mondo, acquisisce coscienza, sfrutta i suoi privilegi innati per spettegolare ogni giorno invece di svolgere il proprio lavoro. Dopo mille anni, un fiore di giglio ragno rosso si trasforma in una persona. Il Re degli Inferi ne riconosce il talento e fa un'eccezione, nominandola assistente di Meng Po. All'inizio svolge bene il suo lavoro, ma con il passare del tempo si annoia sempre di più. Finché un giorno i due combinaguai si incontrano. Si riconoscono come anime affini e non riescono più a fermarsi: uno scava nei pettegolezzi, l'altra ascolta storie. Poco a poco diventano i due maggiori tormenti degli Inferi.
