Jiuzhang, a time traveler, has spent three miserable years living as a beggar in the early Ming Dynasty, finally waiting for a chance to change his fate. Holding out his broken bowl, he stops the Crown Prince's carriage and uses the last bit of energy left by his system to save Zhu Xiongying, the Emperor's eldest grandson. However, his suspicious identity leads Zhu Yuanzhang to interrogate him personally. Jiuzhang, un voyageur temporel, endure trois années de misère en vivant comme un mendiant au début de la dynastie Ming, dans l'attente d'une occasion de changer son destin. Un bol ébréché à la main, il arrête le carrosse du prince héritier et utilise la dernière énergie laissée par son système pour sauver Zhu Xiongying, le petit-fils aîné de l'empereur. Cependant, son identité suspecte pousse Zhu Yuanzhang à l'interroger personnellement.
