The Truth Behind the Sky-High Electricity Bill
Chen Bai's monthly electricity bill is 5,800. When changing a light bulb and pulling the main switch, he discovers that his neighbor, Zhang Meirong, has secretly tapped into his home's electrical circuit for years. Counting on the fact that he was reluctant to renovate, Zhang Meirong only agreed to pay fifty yuan a month. Chen Bai directly pulled the switch and moved out. With the empty apartment disconnected from power, Zhang's family was left without electricity or water. Their complaints to the company and police were entirely ineffective, forcing them to rewire at their own expense. Just when they thought they could catch a breath, Chen Bai's lawyer showed up, claiming compensation of 500,000.
