The Wedding Robe Unfinished, The Old Blade Leaves Its Scabbard
When my daughter was carried back from the East Palace, she was still wearing the wedding robe I had sewn with my own hands. The Crown Prince claimed she accidentally fell into the water, and granting her an intact corpse was already an act of grace. Yet I discovered that the wedding robe concealed a knife wound across her abdomen, and the blood-stained gold threads between her fingers came from the phoenix robe of the Crown Princess, who had just announced her pregnancy. I knelt to give thanks and investigated in secret, only to be hunted by the East Palace, who burned the corpse to destroy evidence and surrounded me with drawn swords. They do not know that this mother, scorned by all, was once the former Emperor's sharpest blade, and the imperial edict in her hands can execute the imperial family! When the Black Iron Order is issued, old subordinates gather. Just as I was preparing to reclaim the blood debt, a confession from the killer made me shudder: the child taken from my daughter was actually still alive.
