Family Ties as a Trap
Song Shu grew up in an orphanage, but is actually the true eldest daughter of the Song family. After returning home, her family informs her that her older brother is gravely ill and dying. Working day and night to raise medical fees, she discovers that the Song family is actually the richest family in Jiangcheng, and the so-called serious illness is a complete scam meant to trick her into marrying the idiot Pei Zheng in place of the fake daughter. Heartbroken and disillusioned, Song Shu resolves to marry Pei Zheng to escape the Song family. When discussing the marriage, the grandfather and Pei Zheng successively try to stop it, yet her attitude remains resolute. At the critical moment, Pei Zheng strongly protects his wife, publicly questioning the Song family and solemnly promising to guard Song Shu with his whole life.

De retour chez elle, sa famille l'informe que son frère aîné est gravement malade et à l'article de la mort. Travaillant jour et nuit pour réunir les frais médicaux, elle découvre que la famille Song est en fait la plus riche de Jiangcheng, et que cette prétendue maladie grave n'est qu'un stratagème pour la piéger et la forcer à épouser l'idiot Pei Zheng à la place de la fausse fille. Le cœur brisé et désabusée, Song Shu décide d'épouser Pei Zheng pour échapper à la famille Song. Lors des discussions sur le mariage, le grand-père et Pei Zheng tentent tour à tour de l'en empêcher, mais elle reste ferme. Au moment crucial, Pei Zheng protège farouchement sa femme, interroge publiquement la famille Song et promet solennellement de veiller sur Song Shu toute sa vie.
