Yuan Dynasty Good Official, Lu Qi

9 episodesOngoing

In the chaotic late Yuan dynasty, the political situation was turbulent. Based on historical records, this drama vividly recreates the legendary and eventful life of the renowned official Lu Qi. From his early appointment in Yanping where he thoroughly investigated fraudulent accounts in the Changping Granary, to governing Yongchun where he provided disaster relief, promoted education, and loved the people like his own children; from entering the rebel camp single-handedly in Quanzhou's critical situation and using his sharp tongue against the rebels to defuse military disaster, to eventually leading the salt administration in Fujian, where in the face of powerful nobles and foreign merchants he took a sacred oath: "My wrist may be severed, but the official dispatch shall not be signed!" Serving as an official for sixteen years, he maintained absolute integrity, resisting the murky currents with his frail body. Ultimately retiring due to exhaustion in Haikou, Fuqing, he caused bandits from all directions to mutually pledge not to violate the area, and ten thousand people shed tears as they bid him farewell. With the heavy texture of orthodox history, the entire drama showcases his fine official qualities: "Ashamed all his life to avoid affairs, with iron shoulders he bears justice and morality."
