An ordinary dinner is the last straw for Cheng Zhiyuan. His maternal grandmother and mother look down on his paternal grandmother because she comes from the countryside and is considered incapable, yet they have forgotten that some of the money that built this family came from her hard-earned savings. Watching his grandmother wait for someone to invite her before she can even sit down at the dinner table, he decides to stand up for her and demand justice. But bringing his elderly grandmother into the house is easy; getting the family to truly accept her is another matter. Faced with his mother's constant concessions, his father's silence, and his maternal grandmother's disapproval, Cheng Zhiyuan gradually realizes that his grandmother needs more than just a bedroom. She needs a warm meal that she can enjoy without having to read everyone else's mood. Un dîner tout à fait ordinaire pousse Cheng Zhiyuan à bout. Sa grand-mère maternelle et sa mère méprisent sa grand-mère paternelle parce qu'elle vient de la campagne et qu'elles la jugent incapable, oubliant que l'argent qu'elle a économisé à force de travail a également contribué à bâtir cette famille. En voyant sa grand-mère attendre qu'on l'invite avant même de pouvoir s'asseoir à table, il décide de prendre sa défense et de réclamer justice pour elle. Mais accueillir une personne âgée chez soi est une chose ; parvenir à ce que toute la famille l'accepte véritablement en est une autre.
