Rotten Peaches Can't Hide the Truth
Hailstorms devastate a peach orchard. Zhou Cheng, a fruit wholesaler, offers to buy hail-damaged peaches directly from the farmers for 0.8 yuan per jin. However, the villagers drive him away and smash his scale because an out-of-town businessman promises to buy all their peaches for 1.6 yuan per jin. That high-price promise soon turns into selective grading, price cuts, short weighing, and delayed payments. Ma Dafu and Han Qiang even try to shift the unpaid debts onto Zhou Cheng. Armed with contracts and evidence, Zhou Cheng uncovers the truth, refuses to take the blame for others, and gives the fruit growers a chance to make their own choices.

Una violenta grandinata devasta un frutteto di peschi. Zhou Cheng, un commerciante di frutta, si offre di acquistare direttamente le pesche danneggiate dalla grandine al prezzo di 0,8 yuan per jin. Tuttavia, gli abitanti del villaggio lo cacciano e distruggono la sua bilancia perché un commerciante proveniente da fuori promette di acquistare tutto il raccolto a 1,6 yuan per jin. Quella promessa di un prezzo elevato si trasforma presto in una selezione per qualità volta ad abbassare i prezzi, pesature truccate e pagamenti in ritardo. Ma Dafu e Han Qiang cercano persino di attribuire a Zhou Cheng la responsabilità dei debiti non saldati. Grazie ai contratti e alle prove in suo possesso, Zhou Cheng scopre la verità, si rifiuta di pagare per le colpe altrui e offre ai frutticoltori la possibilità di scegliere nuovamente la propria strada.
