The Tiangang Thirty-Six Transformations: Demon City
A demon disguises itself as his mother, but Zhu Yi, a high school senior repeating his final year, sees through its disguise and kills it in self-defense. He obtains the Book of the Thirty-Six Tiangang Transformations and awakens supernatural abilities. After being locked up in a psychiatric hospital, he kills his attending physician, Chu Ya, and learns his mother's whereabouts. He joins the Demon Suppression Bureau and successively slays the Spider Demoness, the Play Demon, the Human-Faced Tree, and Japanese onmyoji, awakening powerful abilities such as the Five Thunder Righteous Method and the Five Elements Great Escape. His mother was actually offered by Chu Hai to the Demon Lord as a vessel for possession. Japanese forces and Zhong Yi, a traitor within the Demon Suppression Bureau, also become embroiled in the struggle. Zhu Yi joins forces with Su Wan to eliminate Chu Hai and Ghost Island, but Zhong Yi steals the skeletal remains of the Vermilion Bird and frames someone else.
