The Waived Tea Seat Fee
Chen Chuan, a team leader who had worked at Fumanlou for eight years, completely fell out with boss Zhou Haisheng and was fired on the spot after waiving twenty-four yuan in tea seat fees for a customer. On the day he lost his job, he was invited by Xu Guoliang, the boss of the newly opened Shengjinglou across the street, to be its store manager. Facing tight funds, a shortage of kitchen staff, peer pressure, and constant targeting from his old boss, Chen Chuan started with a cup of free warm water, reassembled the team, stabilized customer sources, and took on banquets.
