Lin Cheng, a newcomer, arrives at the community repair shop at the alley entrance to learn home appliance repair from scratch under Master Zhao. Shedding all impatience, she starts from recognizing tools, following standard disassembly and assembly procedures, and running safety tests. Polishing her basic skills by working on desk lamps, fans, and radios, she also shadows her master on on-site repair visits. When the community organizes a volunteer repair drive, Lin Cheng leads newcomer Xiao Song to join the service in the public square. Patiently fixing old appliances for neighbors, they pass down a rigorous and pragmatic ethos of craftsmanship. Under the warm glow at the alley entrance, the story depicts ordinary people growing through steady dedication and neighbors watching out for one another.
